Putu Ayu Gayatri

Research Executive, Indonesia

Putu Ayu Gayatri, Research Executive with Firefly Millward Brown in Indonesia, comes to the field of qualitative research after an early career in journalism. Over the course of her five years as a radio announcer at Solo Radio, Ayu interviewed politicians, celebrities, musicians, activists and an ambassador and gained expert skill in drawing out their stories.

In another avenue of journalism, she covered social issues and education as a newspaper reporter before landing a two-year role as a television-rating analyst in an Indonesia national station, TRANS7, in their research and development department. It was here, immersed in providing daily insights and knowledge about the Indonesian audience behavior across profiles, where she honed her sharp research approach and sought a more research-centric career.

Now, at Firefly, Ayu is a passionate researcher who is interested in understanding media, brands, psychology, evolution and cultures. These interests connect back to her communications studies and degree earned from the University of Sebelas Maret, Solo, Indonesia. Her adept communication skills and focus in brand equity and positioning as well as new product development and creative development suits her well and benefits her clients immensely.

Quick facts:

  • Ayu is a city traveler who loves to study humans and interactions through exploring architecture and enjoying street foods just as much she loves to study animals and nature at museums and zoos
  • If you come across Ayu while she’s in a contemplative mode, it’s likely that she’s quietly observing people and their actions and habits while simultaneously daydreaming about world peace and harmony
